Getting to Amsterdam

Most of you will probably arrive at Schiphol, Amsterdam’s airport. The best way to get into town is to take a train directly from the airport. It takes about 15 minutes, runs very frequently and costs EUR 3.70. Bear in mind that there are different train stations in Amsterdam, but most hotels are closest to Amsterdam Central. It is of course possible to take a cab at the airport, but they tend to be *very* expensive (this also holds of city cabs in Amsterdam).

Invited speakers will be staying at Hotel Eureka; it is roughly at a 20 min. walk from the train station, and it can also be reached by subway, subway station Waterlooplein (look for the exits to the Opera House). A map can be found here.

Getting around in Amsterdam

You can get door-to-door travel advice at

To make use of public transportation, you must purchase a so-called OV-chipcard:

An OV-chipcard can be bought at the GVB tickets and info office just opposite the Amsterdam Central Station and at many vending machines.

If you are staying at a hotel near the conference venue, you will most probably be able to do everything on foot, as the distances are all short.

Registration will start on Tuesday December 7th at 9.00. Please bring the exact amount of your registration fee to speed up the process: EUR 70 for regular participants, EUR 35 for graduate students, EUR 30 for the conference dinner. When you register for the dinner, please notify us if you would like a vegetarian menu.

Social program

There will be drinks at Kapitein Zeppos on Tueday straight after the lectures.

The conference dinner will take place on Wednesday at 19.30, at Aneka Rasa, a very nice Indonesian Restaurant.
