Picture from the Handbook Day, 18 December 2006, VOC Building, Amsterdam
On Monday December 18th, ILLC and Elsevier are throwing a party to celebrate the appearance of a number of volumes in the the growing series Handbook of the Philosophy of Science, edited by Dov Gabbay, Paul Thagard, & John Woods. More in particular, we will also launch the just-appeared Handbook of Modal Logic, edited by Patrick Blackburn, Johan van Benthem & Frank Wolter. Many people at and around ILLC have contributed to this volume, but other 'prime movers' will be present as well, including the Series publishers that we have worked with for so long.
The event will be held in the historical VOC Building in the centre of Amsterdam. For directions, click here.

There will be short presentations of the series, whose volumes on physics, cognitive science, anthropology, philosophy of logic, and general methodology have recently appeared, while volumes on linguistics (edited by Jeroen Groenendijk and Martin Stokhof) and philosophy of information (Pieter Adriaans and Johan van Benthem) are coming up.
