The Amsterdam Colloquium features a special session on `Mood and Modality'.
The workshop is intended as part of a research program that aims to bridge
the gap between l'art pour l'art logic and empirically grounded linguistic
analysis.
We invite presentations that address any of the following topics.
- Logical tools to extend, refine or reconstruct the traditional apparatus
of possible worlds, times and events.
- Semantic analyses of non-indicative moods, modal expressions or
conditionals.
- Empirical studies on the morphosyntactic and semantic interaction of modal
expressions and temporal expressions cross-linguistically.
This session features two invited speakers:
- Cleo Condoravdi (Palo Alto, CA)
- Jan Nuyts (Antwerpen)
There is room for three additional talks. Abstract submissions of
at most 6 pages should be sent to veltman@hum.uva.nl.
The program committee for this special session consists of
- Cleo Condoravdi (Palo Alto, CA)
- Jan Nuyts (Antwerpen)
- Frank Veltman (Amsterdam)
Organization: Frank Veltman
