Logic and artificial intelligence
he role of logic as a foundational discipline for AI has been rather
controversial in the past and in the first part of this talk
I will try to give an overview of the arguments in this debate.
As a positive case for the demonstration of the fruitful interaction
between language , logic and computation in AI , I shall report some
results from the area of natural language processing.
